We’re delighted that the Clothes Throw 2013 is supported by:
Alder Hey Children’s Charity is delighted that Littlewoods have once again agreed to sponsor the Clothes Throw. The national fashion brand have supported Alder Hey for a number of years including sponsoring the Clothes Throw event in 2012.
Littlewoods donated funds for the £2.25m Littlewoods Neurosciences Unit which was opened in 2004 by Wayne and Coleen Rooney. Alder Hey’s 3-T intra-operative MRI scanner was funded by a £3m donation from the owners of Littlewoods. The scanner is the only one of its kind in Europe and was officially opened by His Royal Highness Prince William in 2010.
Co-owner of The Racquet Club Helen Ainscough came up with the idea of the Clothes Throw in 2009 as a way to thank Alder Hey for saving her daughter Molly’s life. Helen enlisted the help of celebrities and her friends to donate clothes and accessories to ‘The Clothes Throw’ and raise cash for Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
Over the past five years, the Clothes Throw has expanded into a national fundraiser, raising over £130,000.
- The Racquet Club will host the live catwalk auction on Thursday 7th November.
Coleen Rooney is fronting the Clothes Throw for the second year in succession.
A close supporter of Alder Hey and an official patron of Alder Hey Children’s Charity, Coleen also has her own Littlewoods collection.
