Every penny you raise will really make the difference to the lives of our patients. Alder Hey treats approximately 270,000 children (including A&E admissions) each year and the average length of stay is three days but some of our patients are here with us for many years. Here are just some of the examples of how your donation makes the difference:
| £5 | will buy five packs of crayons. 22,000 crayons a year are given to children to entertain them whilst in A&E each year. |

| £50 | will buy ten books for our children to read whilst at Alder Hey. |
| £500 | will buy arts & crafts materials to be used as distraction therapy whilst treating our young cancer patients with chemotherapy. |
| £1,000 | will buy one Apnoea Monitor which is a specially designed mattress to detect when a baby has stopped breathing. |
| £2,000 | will buy one wheelchair which can be used in transportation. This allows children to be released earlier from hospital and helps with the transition back to normal life because they have the ability to attend school. |
